At Barbourn, we strive to ensure your men’s and women’s cotton jackets are shipped to you in a timely and secure manner. This Shipping Policy outlines key details about our order processing, shipping methods, delivery timelines, shipping costs, and procedures for addressing shipping-related issues, so you can stay informed about your purchase every step of the way.

1. Order Processing Time

Before your order is shipped, we need time to process and prepare your cotton jacket(s) for delivery. Most orders are processed within 1-2 business days (Monday to Friday, excluding weekends and major public holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s Day). During peak periods—including sale events, holiday seasons (e.g., Black Friday, Christmas), or when launching new jacket collections—order processing may take up to 3 business days. If there is any unexpected delay in processing your order (e.g., due to inventory shortages for a specific jacket style or size), we will notify you via email as soon as possible, providing an updated processing timeline and offering options such as waiting for restock or canceling the order.

2. Shipping Destinations

Barbourn currently ships to addresses within the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and select countries in the European Union. For customers outside these regions, please contact our customer service team at [email protected] before placing an order to confirm whether we can ship to your location and to inquire about applicable shipping details. We do not ship to P.O. boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or freight forwarders—all orders must be shipped to a valid residential or commercial address with a physical street number.

3. Shipping Methods & Delivery Timelines

We partner with trusted shipping carriers (including UPS, FedEx, and DHL) to deliver your orders. The available shipping methods and corresponding delivery timelines depend on your shipping destination:

  • United States: Standard shipping typically takes 3-5 business days from the date your order is shipped. Expedited shipping is also available for an additional cost, with delivery taking 1-2 business days. Please note that delivery to remote areas (e.g., Alaska, Hawaii, and rural parts of the contiguous U.S.) may take an extra 1-2 business days beyond the standard timeline.
  • Canada: Standard shipping generally takes 4-7 business days. Due to customs processing, there may be occasional delays that extend delivery by 1-2 days—these delays are outside our control, but we will provide support if you encounter issues.
  • United Kingdom: Standard shipping usually arrives within 2-4 business days. During busy periods (e.g., holiday sales or post-Brexit customs delays), delivery may take up to 5 business days.
  • European Union: Standard shipping timelines vary by country, ranging from 3-6 business days. For countries with more remote locations or stricter customs procedures, delivery may take an additional 1-2 days.

Please note that delivery timelines refer to business days and do not include weekends, public holidays, or the time taken for order processing (outlined in Section 1).

4. Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated based on your shipping destination, the weight and dimensions of your order (which depends on the number of cotton jackets purchased), and the shipping method you select (standard or expedited). When you add items to your cart and proceed to checkout, you will be prompted to enter your shipping address—after which the applicable shipping costs for each available method will be displayed clearly. You can then select the shipping method that best fits your needs and budget before completing your purchase.

For international orders (including those to Canada and EU countries), additional fees such as customs duties, taxes, or import charges may apply. These fees are determined by the customs authorities of your destination country and are your responsibility to pay—Barbourn does not cover or collect these fees at the time of purchase. We recommend checking with your local customs office before placing an international order to understand the potential additional costs.

5. Order Tracking

Once your order is shipped, we will send a shipping confirmation email to the address you provided during checkout. This email includes a unique tracking number and a link to the carrier’s website, where you can monitor the real-time status of your delivery (e.g., when the package leaves our warehouse, arrives at a local distribution center, or is out for delivery). If you do not receive the shipping confirmation email within 24 hours of your order being processed, please check your spam or junk folder—if it is not there, contact us at [email protected] with your order number, and we will resend the tracking details.

Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for the carrier’s website to update the tracking information after you receive the shipping confirmation. If the tracking status shows no updates for more than 3 business days, reach out to us, and we will investigate the issue with the carrier.

6. Shipping Issues & Resolution

We work closely with our shipping carriers to minimize issues, but occasionally, problems such as delayed deliveries, lost packages, or damaged items may occur. Here’s how we address common shipping-related concerns:

  • Delayed Deliveries: If your package does not arrive within the estimated delivery timeline, first check the tracking information for updates (e.g., customs holds, address issues). We will investigate the delay with the carrier and provide you with regular updates until the issue is resolved.
  • Lost Packages: If the carrier confirms that your package is lost, we will offer you two options: either send a replacement order (if the jacket style and size are in stock) or issue a full refund (including the shipping cost you paid). To process this, we may ask you to confirm your shipping address and provide any additional details requested by the carrier.
  • Damaged Packages/Items: If your package arrives damaged (e.g., torn packaging) or the cotton jacket inside is damaged during shipping, contact us within 48 hours of delivery. Include your order number, photos of the damaged packaging, and photos of the damaged jacket in your email. We will arrange for a return of the damaged item (at our cost) and either send a replacement or issue a full refund, depending on your preference and inventory availability.
